Dakota Moreno
Actor, Singer, Dancer, Dreamer

My name is Dakota Moreno,
(previously known as Dakota M. Schantz). Having been raised in the middle of the woods in Central Massachusetts I had to find a way to make life exciting. So at the wee age of five, I found an audition for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, marched on up to my mother and convinced her to let me audition. All while not knowing how to read, somehow I pulled it off and made my theatre debut as The Leader of the Oompa Loompas (the starring role of course). Through this production I not only learned how to read but it opened up a new world for me. Two years later I approached my mother once again asking if I could start voice lessons. She proceeded to explain how it was a big commitment and would cost quite a bit of money. I left and came back with a handful of bills and coins from my piggy bank asking her if it would be enough. It was enough for one lesson. These stories can only illustrate a fraction of my passion and determination, and it has only grown since then.
In the years to follow I have had many incredible opportunities in theatre, film, television, print, and many behind the scenes in production, administration, and education. I am always itching to contribute to the arts in any way possible and am hoping to learn any chance I get. My most recent endeavor, having earned my BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance at Nazareth University in Rochester, New York.
When not performing, you can find me in a coffee shop with a good book in hand, adventuring the great outdoors, cooking up a feast, thrifting, traveling the world, and hanging with my friends and family.
